GTWJ Journal
You’re Going to Hear More of Me
GTWJ has always been entirely my work. Now, for the first time, you’re going to start hearing my own voice behind it too.
I posted a reel today that felt a little different from anything I have shared before.
Not because GTWJ is changing.
And not because I am suddenly becoming more involved in what you see here.
GTWJ has always been completely created by me.
I write everything. I research everything. I develop the ideas, the videos, the Issues, the blog posts, the podcast, the membership, the concepts and the entire editorial direction behind GTWJ.
Every word you read here has always come from me.
The only thing you have not really heard until now is my own voice.
GTWJ has always been my voice in writing.
Now you’re going to hear it out loud too.
I have always been quite shy when it comes to putting myself at the centre of things.
Writing has always felt natural to me. Sitting down and turning an idea into an essay, a script, an Issue or a conversation has never felt nearly as intimidating as actually speaking and letting people hear me.
But something has changed over the past few months.
GTWJ has grown into much more than a YouTube channel.
There are the Issues, the essays, GTWJ Unfiltered, our Membership, the conversations we have in the community and all of you who come back every week to talk about fashion with me in a deeper way.
And the love and support I have felt from this community has slowly helped me come out of my shell a little more.
So I think I’m ready for the next step.
Starting September 11
Beginning with our September 11 video and possibly even sooner, I’m going to start recording the voiceovers for GTWJ myself.
You will finally hear the person who has been behind all of these words, ideas and conversations from the beginning.
It feels strange to write that because, in a way, you already know me.
You know what I think about fashion. You know the things I question. You know what makes me excited, what frustrates me, what I find beautiful, and probably far too much about the way my brain works when I start analysing an outfit.
But hearing someone is different.
There is something much more personal about a voice.
And I think GTWJ is finally at a point where I want to let a little more of myself into the world we have built together.
And There’s More Coming
GTWJ will still be GTWJ. The fashion analysis, the research, the longer conversations, the details, the curiosity and the way we look at fashion will remain exactly at the centre of everything.
You are simply going to see, and hear a little more of the person who has been creating it all along.
And I’m actually very excited about that.
So, stay tuned.
A new chapter of GTWJ is beginning very soon — and this time, you’ll hear me telling the story.
